Delete your account and your data
Last updated: July 2026.
This page explains how to request deletion of your Murder Maker account and the data associated with it. You can make the request without having the application installed, using either of the two methods below.
1. From the application (self-service, recommended)
If you have the Murder Maker application, deletion is available on a self-service basis: open the Account / Settings menu, then « Delete my account », and confirm. Deletion is immediate and permanent (subject to the effects described in §3). An export of your data is also offered at the same place if you wish to keep a copy before deleting your account.
2. By email
You can also request deletion by writing to contact [at] murder-maker.com, from the email address associated with your account, with the subject « Account deletion ». We may ask you to confirm your identity in order to prevent fraudulent deletion, and we then process the request within a maximum of 30 days. No fee is charged.
3. What is deleted, anonymised or retained
To avoid any surprise, deletion has the following effects:
- Your private or unpublished scenarios are deleted in full, including their uploaded images.
- Your published scenarios in the Workshop are anonymised, not deleted: their ownership is transferred to a technical platform account and your personal link to them is erased, so that the community catalogue and the clones already made by other users survive without any personal data concerning you. Deleting your account therefore does not remove a published scenario that others may have cloned. To remove a published scenario, unpublish or delete it before deleting your account. Murder Maker may take over stewardship of published content left by a deleted account (see the Terms of Service).
- Your profile portrait, your remaining memberships, your invitations and your export archives are deleted; all your sessions are revoked and your user record is erased.
- Your activity logs are erased; the security logs that are strictly necessary may be kept until the end of their legal retention period, but are then pseudonymised (removal of your identifier and your IP address).
All of the above is subject to any legal retention obligations. For full details, see the Privacy Policy (§9) and the Terms of Service.
